Simon Majumdar, Kristen Kish + the Seoul Sausage Boyz

No Comments Uncategorized

We first met Simon Majumdar back in 2011 at the Long Beach Crawfish Festival when Seoul Sausage was just an iddy bitty catering/events company w/ no food truck or store. He tried our sausages that day & has been an avid supporter & friend ever since.

A few weeks ago we had the chance to show him around our favorite Koreatown spots for his new book, Fed, White, & Blue and Seoul Sausage had the privilege to provide material for his new adventure. Needless to say, we had a blast getting “blattered” together. Soon after, we had a chance to cook together at Seoul Sausage kitchen.

What resulted was a Pork Vindaloo Sausage & Chicken Tandoori Fried Balls. Who knows? You might see something like this on our menu someday!

That same day of Simon’s cooking adventures, we had another guest that was in town none other than last season’s Top Chef winner, Kristen Kish! (special thanks to Julie at KoreAm)

Kristen is one bad ass girl! Due to her hectic schedule we only had 3 hours to tour the town. We headed to the place we knew best, Koreatown! We taught her how to order in Korean, introduced her to Soju, and had the most epic taxi car ride ever.

She felt like a friend we’ve known for years. For all of you in Boston, go try her food at Menton!

Here’s our interview that we did with Kristen for KoreAm

TV Celebrity Chefs & Seoul Sausage

No Comments Celebrity Chefs, Great Food Truck Race, Store

During the past few months, Seoul Sausage has seen a surge of food celebrity figures swinging by the store. Here is a peek into some of the chatter that’s been happening on Twitter as of late:

First, Alton Brown paid a visit on his trip to LA where he got to try one of everything on the menu (aka Seoul Pack). We also go to show off our Scion xB grilling machine where he just completely lost it.

He then told his buddy Bobby Flay who came the very next day:

Bobby was particularly fond of the Spicy Pork sausage & the KFC. We think he enjoyed his lunch judging by his twitter post urging his friends to run there.

Then, to complete the trifecta, the very next day we get a call from…

Giada De Laurentiis! Word had traveled fast and the Food Network superstars had their own Seoul Sausage private party!

The following week, our good friend Simon Majumbdar swung by. We chatted about making a Chicken tikka masala ball together and an outing in Ktown in the near future.

As of this wasn’t enough, here is more love from Bravo’s Top Chef celebrities who have shown Seoul Sausage some love, including Ink’s very own Michael Voltaggio:

Last but not least, thanks to KoreaM Magazine, we had the opportunity to interview this season’s Top Chef winner Kristen Kish. She is one badass chef! Interview will be posted soon online.

Seoul Sausage x John Park presents ‘Make Sausage Not War’ mural

No Comments Great Food Truck Race, Lifestyle

Hello our lovely friends & family

As you all know we have been building & decorating our humble home for Seoul Sausage, the retail store, located on 11313 Mississippi Ave (cross st Sawtelle) and we are almost near completion. Most recently we have had the privilege of having an amazing artist, named John Park, to paint our wall with a mural aptly named, ‘Make Sausage Not War’. This project was 13+ hours in the making and after all was said and done, we are left with the following jaw dropping video, courtesy of Howard Kan.

We will shortly be announcing the date of our grand opening so stay tuned! Meanwhile don’t forget to catch us on the Great Food Truck Race on the @FoodNetwork this Sunday at 9pm PST for episode #5 as we head into Nashville, Tennessee! This episode is one you can’t miss.
